The Sports Pony Studbook Society is sponsoring the ALL NEW Potential Event Pony Championship to be held at the IPS this year.
The SPSS Potential Jumping Pony Championship - won by Larkspur Santa Anita and Sali Parry last year at IPS 2010 will also be held again by the IPS, giving competitors even more reason to enter these exciting opportunities to showcase their young Sport Ponies at the IPS.
Schedule for 18th September 2011 ( timings are approximate)
8.30 Dressage and jumping arenas available for horses and ponies for sale.
10.30 SPSS Potential Eventing Pony Championship with all dressage first with all Jumping to follow.
12.00 SPSS Potential Jumping Pony Championship
1.00 IPS £1,000 Challenge.
2.00pm Open unaffiliated handicap open to all age riders on horses and ponies, heights of course 80cm, 90, and 1m. entry fee £10.
3.00pm Junior Grand Prix Handicap open to BS junior members on Registered BS ponies. heights 95cm, 1.05m, 1.15m 1st prizes £30, £50 and £70. Entry fees £10, £15 and £20.
4.30pm Display by Eindershof Jamai Dressage pony and Dutch- graded warmblood stallion.
5.00pm Auction commences. Elite, fully registered and affiliated lots first.
Rules (including Eligibility):
Potential Event Pony Championship
- No qualification required.
- Ponies up to and including 148 cm in height (149 cm with shoes).
- Open to both BE-registered and non-BE registered ponies, owners & riders need not be BE members.
- Riders any age; size of rider to be appropriate for size of pony.
- To be run under BE rules.
- No lunging
- Entries to be accompanied by a copy of the pony?s pedigree (so that breeding information can be published).
Special Prizes:
- £50 first prize in each year old class sponsored by Goodman Agricultural and Horsebox Engineers, £40 - second, £30 third.
- £50 voucher for highest placed native in 6 year old class provided by D & J Saddlery
- Rosettes to 6th place in each section
- SPSS Polo Shirt & Cap to rider of winning pony in each class.
- SPSS Voucher (value £20 and redeemable against SPSS merchandise, grading, registration or membership fees) to Highest Overall Placed Stallion and Highest Overall Placed Mare
- SPSS Merit Award (Certificate/Rosette) to highest placed SPSS registered pony in each section.
- SPSS Teddy to youngest rider (date of birth to be given on entry form)
Potential Jumping Pony Championship
Maximum Height of Fences:
- Class 1. 4 year old ponies ? Fences not to exceed 85 cms
- Class 2. 5 year old ponies - Fences not to exceed 95 cms
- Class 3. 6 year old ponies - Fences not to exceed 1.05cms
Fences in classes 2 & 3 may be lowered for ponies not exceeding 128cms & 138cms
