The exciting new SPSS Potential Event Pony Championships at IPS 2011 were very well received by all on Sunday with the fabulous Carnsdale Sunnyside taking the Championship and Morrigan Mahraid in Reserve spot. Beaten into 2nd place in the 6 year old class by Mr Bojangles (sold on the day to Mrs Wilson), Mahraid gained the Reserve spot with her gallop in the Championship. Mr Wayne Hughes’ Moonbeam won the 4 year old class and was taken home by her catch ride Robyn Harris so impressed was she with the mare during Robyn’s marathon 11 HOURS in the saddle on Sunday!
Judge Linda de Matteo, Accredited BE Trainer, was very impressed with the whole event and the quality of the ponies forward.
Sire of The Champion is M J Fine Art, standing locally to South View. MJ FineArt is a Grand Prix dressage horse, British bred with excellent TB x RID bloodlines.
Sire of Reserve Champion Mahraid is Kilmullen Fionn - full brother to FEI team pony Iratu Varagnac and half brother to Hocki - sire of European Gold medallst Miami Gold.
SPSS Potential Jumping Championships Champion was the fantastic little Rotherwood Signature, sec B stallion owned by Trudi Goulding and ridden by 8 year old Maisey Sloane, proving what a lovely nature this stunning Welsh pony has - he had been covering mares only 2 weeks previously ! Reserve was again Morrigan Mahraid with owner/rider/producer Robyn Harris.
