Despite the financial climate a clearance rate of 15% was attained and top prices were paid.
Golgdigga IV commanded top price of £15000 to his new owner Mrs T Drake who had travelled from Kent to the sale. They sold a pony and went home very very pleased with their new purchase.
Other top lots included Delaroche Stud’s exceptional 3yo Delaroche Brilliant Cut, Sports Horses Direct’s very promising jumper Talpa, and the great little allrounder/SJ Harvey from Mr Allan Birch who all had price tags of around £4000 each.
The IPS Gala evening, MC?d by Matt Millin was very well received, the young riders from the British dressage team - Claire Galleymore on Gigolo and Olivia Leak with Devito - thrilled the crowd with their elegant and inspirational dressage and a very informative commentary from Gill Jolleys. Not to be outdone the Junior Eventers also put on a very impressive display thanks to Abbie Chapman on Trewithian Bracken and Sophie Martin piloting Master Bojangles with an exciting commentary from none other than Jancis Tulloch - one of the GB Team selectors.
Mr Hugh Paterson of Miami Stud graciously received his award for the Outstanding Contribution to Sports Pony Breeding.
The evening continued with a selection of the auction lots, from beautiful youngstock, all rounders to showjumpers, punctuated by some highly entertaining antics from the Quack Pack- Mr Meirion Owen, his sheepdogs and of course, ducks! The audience participation was a big hit here!
The evening was rounded off by Mr & Mrs Robinson?s showjumping star Hugo Igo II who jumped a very impressive clear round over some serious fences, followed by the most beautiful dressage to music by MJFine Art - a superb Irish Draught stallion whose athleticism and spectacular movement won him a standing ovation. Ridden by owner Mrs Jane Howells this truly impressive horse is consistently winning at Prix St Georges and Intermediare II level and with Mr Alan Clements (grade 1V), champion Para Dressage Horse.
Many thanks to all who attended and contributed to the success of the event.
